The Clouded Yellow butterfly is a summer visitor from southern Europe. Although some are seen every year, the species is famous for occasional mass immigration and subsequent breeding, which are fondly and long remembered as ''Clouded Yellow Years''. The butterfly has been artistically interpreted in this fabulous brooch. In bright yellow and black with orange markings and a lace-effect edging to the wings, this embroidered and hand-painted brooch (or hairclip) is one Vikki’s British butterfly collection.
